A New Look

Well as you can probably see we have a new-look blog as of today.

It’s not anything crazy, and most of you won’t even notice the biggest changes that were done behind the scenes, but we’re going to continue to add to what we’ve changed and hopefully build something you enjoy coming back to.

I’m writing this post, not to wax poetic about the great job I did in re-designing everything (because it’s not that great) but to give a big thanks and promote the work of one John Saddington.

I’ve never met the guy, and probably never will, but he’s definitely worthy of a day’s worth of blogging.

See I emailed John the other day (because he’s the only person I could think of on the internet to help me out) after some code and hosting data had gone awry. Not only did he write me back within a few hours but he proceeded to walk me through all the mistakes I’d made and help me in re-coding, re-working, and re-everything-ing my site.

No monetary compensation, no grand parade in his honor, only the satisfaction that he’d helped another blogger get where he was going.

If you’re not reading his blog on how to build a blog or following him on Twitter, you should be. Oh, and we also started using the theme he created as of last night. Highly recommend it if you’re getting into the blogging world.

Enjoy the fresh site, feel free to click around (like, oh I don’t know, on that tweet and share button to your left right now), and look for more features in the near future.

I'm an aspiring freelance writer and blogger (which doesn't make a ton of sense when you think about it). I started a blog called Our Marriage Project and one about OSU called Pistols Firing. I love both of them, and I love my wife. And I love Kevin Durant, Explosions in the Sky, Tim Riggins, Blue Moon ale, Twitter, and the state of Georgia.

  1. Guys and Girls like that who can throw code on a page and make it make sense are amazing (I’m married to a guy who knows his code lol)

However that top commenters make me feel like a geek lol

  2. The blogging community is fortunate to have John Saddington pulling for us. He helped me in literally countless ways setting up my first blog (that actually had any kind of strategy). The new design looks great!

  3. Couldn’t agree with your more Kyle. I clicked here from John’s retweet. Tentblogger has endless information and the 8bit support page is awesome when it comes to customizing Standard Theme. I use it on my site too, and am still pretty new to the self hosted scene. Good luck!

  4. John is a blogger’s Pro! I’ve met him a few times, and he’s taken my macbook and made changes himself to what I needed help with!

    That’s a good ask!

  5. Terrific paintings! This is the type of info that should be shared across the net. Disgrace on the search engines for now not positioning this submit higher! Come on over and talk over with my web site . Thank you =)
