SportsMentor

This is an experiment. Well, this marriage, yes, is an experiment, but also this video is an experiment. We wanted to throw something random out there and see if you guys liked it. This is me teaching Jen about sports and getting her thoughts on LeBron, World Cup, and The British Open. To me it’s some of the funniest candor I’ve ever seen. To you…it might be stupid. If so then move along and go read this girl, she’s awesome. If you only have 30 seconds…Jen insinuates that Portugal is in South America at 2:15 and the real fireworks begin at 3:26.

Oh, and yes, the title is very much a play on words…

I'm an aspiring freelance writer and blogger (which doesn't make a ton of sense when you think about it). I started a blog called Our Marriage Project and one about OSU called Pistols Firing. I love both of them, and I love my wife. And I love Kevin Durant, Explosions in the Sky, Tim Riggins, Blue Moon ale, Twitter, and the state of Georgia.

  1. Chad and I were laughing kind of like this. "Bahahahaha!" More Sports Mentor Please! Also, what project was Jen working on? More on that too!

  2. So funny!! I agree w/Jen…a "nice" team would be my pick too, but we would have to figure out a way to win as well!!! 😉

  3. So… I read this blog every day when I get to work. It's kind of like a "yay, you made it to work" gift. But, I'm so disappointed today, because my computer has no sound. Guess I'll have to wait.
    p.s. I need a sports mentor. Haha.

  4. Jen is right – a nice team would definitely be the way to go! Also, thanks again for the book! I am loving it already! 🙂

  5. I love the strategically placed Master's visor in the back ground. I'm laughing about our conversation about Elin from yogurtland the other night. I'd say the SportsMentor was definitely a success. And I'm with you Kyle, what is her deal with K.J.?

    1. I don't understand…she said something about how brave he was for playing all 4 rounds with Tiger at The Masters this year or something…"it's the hardest thing to do in sports Kyle!" – that was her direct quote

  6. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! I love this. And I would def want a nice team instead of a winning team too. Well, I'm kinda ok that Dez Bryant was kinda a jerk because he always caught the football, but then we all found out he was a liar and wasn't allowed to catch the ball at all…. so i guess the nice team really does win in the long run. Finally I found someone who lives in my sports reality. BUT, Jen, you know way more than I do. So here are some of my, what guys consider stupid, thoughts I've had on sports:

    1. I think it's stupid that football players get to keep their playbook on a little wrist bracelet during the game. If they are good enough to make the team, they should have their plays memorized. I feel like it's kinda cheating.

    2. I don't really get the football rule where the ball just has to cross the plane to make the touch down. I really think that some body part should have to touch the ground in the touch down area to count. It's it called a touch down. Not a fly through the air across the end zone area.

umm… when I starting typing I thought I had more thoughts on sports, but I guess I have just been thinking a lot about the above two.

    :-/

more sports mentor please… it made me laugh out loud

    1. Haha, first of all your thoughts on Dez are hilarious, awesome, and true. Second, your pontification on the intricate rules of football made me laugh out loud. Especially the wristband one. Your comments are the best.

  7. So funny! I vote for the nice team too :-). I curious to know what Jen's working on throughout the interview…
